The Australian College of Information Technology and Institute of Film and Television (ACIT & IFTV), based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, has been operating since 1993.

To succeed as an educator, a woman needs to build networks, foster working partnerships, and understand legal governance to protect and support her business while providing a high level of education to thousands of international students and support in the employment sector with local employers. ACIT & IFTV have educated generations of students from over 40 countries and assisted with industry placement. Sonya travels and speaks at conventions globally about education systems that lead to quality employment, digital media, technology, information protection, and cybersecurity.

Sonya has worked extensively in technology, media, and education, and in her beauty products, enterprising globally in many industries. Her strength lies not only in education and training but also in digital media creation and film production. Her company, IFTV Studios, has been collaborating with the French television industry since 2019. Additionally, she has created her fragrance label, Sonya McGuire Parfumerie, using traditional French ingredients dating back to the 1700s.

From Australia to France and currently expanding in new international markets, Sonya McGuire brings more than three decades of experience across information technology, corporate governance, entrepreneurship, education, creative industries and international business. Beginning her career as a computer programmer, she progressed into college ownership, executive leadership and the establishment of six enterprises spanning education, beauty, real estate and creative ventures. Her career reflects a unique combination of technological expertise, strategic management, legal administration, international trade and creative direction.

Sonya holds a Master of Legal Administration from Bond University, with double majors in International Banking and Finance and Corporate Legal Governance. She achieved First in Class honours in International Banking and Finance Law, recognising her academic excellence in the field. Over the past two decades, she has continued to strengthen her professional knowledge through legal and technology forums, international trade missions and industry conferences, maintaining a strong connection to emerging technologies, global business trends and international markets.

Sonya plans to harness the power of digital technology to change the lives of women across the globe.

As a founder and CEO associated with the Australian College of Information Technology (ACIT) and IFTV, Sonya has built a career connecting education, technology and creative enterprise. She is now actively developing and expanding educational ventures across Australia, New Zealand and international markets, with a focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced computing, digital media and data centre infrastructure. Her broader business portfolio encompasses education, real estate, French perfumery, media and international ventures, reflecting her commitment to building businesses that respond to evolving industries and global demand.

Her international experience includes participation in trade missions involving Australian Government leaders, with engagements extending across South America and Asia. She has attended major industry events, including the American Film Market, CES in the United States, film events in Cannes, Screen Forever and data centre conventions in Australia, building connections across technology, film, education and business.

Alongside her corporate and entrepreneurial career, Sonya has pursued creative interests through film and fragrance. She has acted in the short film Empowering Women — Essence of France and developed her own French fragrance brand, Sonya Fragrance. Her property ventures extend across real estate, holiday letting, styling and development in the Gold Coast and Byron Bay regions.

Today, Sonya is focused on creating new enterprises, expanding established businesses into international markets and building strategic partnerships across education, emerging technologies, beauty and fragrance, media and property. With a global outlook and a diverse entrepreneurial background, she is committed to developing commercially sustainable ventures that connect innovation, creativity and international business, with an expanding presence across Australia, New Zealand, France and other global markets.
